Synopsis :

............................................................

The Petroleum Geology of the ADRIATIC is covered in three volumes: Volume 1 contains 264 Pages of text with 94 illustrations and 240 references. The text is structured in ten chapters on Energy Supply and Demand and Mineral Resources, Structural Geology, Stratigraphy and Palaeogeography, Petroleum Geology 9 (reservoir rocks, source rocks, migration, entrapment e.t.c.), and index of 30 Oil and Gas Fields and drilled structures, Geophysical Data, etcetera

The emphasis of this study lies in the correlation of the Albanian Structural geology, Stratigraphy and Tectonics with that of Greece, Yugoslavia, Italy and the Adriatic and Ionian Seas.

Volumes 2 and 3 contain 15 maps and montages of large size (3ft x 5ft); the maps are at 1:200,000, 1:500,000, 1:1,000,000. Regional geological cross sections for the Adriatic and on-shore Albania are at 1:250,000 horizontal scale. Amongst the montages are synoptic tables on Plate Tectonic Evolution of Eastern Mediterranean, Stratigraphic correlations of all structural provinces of Albania with their equivalent units in Greece and Yugoslavia and likewise for the stratigraphy.

This study should as much interest the regional geologist involved in studies as the petroleum explorationist.
